Face Mask for Dry Skin [Recipe]

Today I have a simple, 3 ingredient face mask recipe for you that will turn dry skin into vibrant, healthy looking skin in no time.

Let’s talk a little about how the mask works:

Flax helps to lock moisture into your skin, preventing dryness and damage. It nourishes your skin and improves its look and feel.

Being the good fats that they are, the omega-3 fatty acids add the requisite amount of moisture to the skin, without making it too oily. Regular use can delay the onset of fine lines and wrinkles in the face.”

Eating the oil or the seeds can help add moisture to your skin too. Your body benefits both inside and out from getting the right balance of essential fatty acids, and flax is an excellent source of healthy fat, especially omega–3s.

Dry Skin Flax Mask Recipe:


This face mask utilizes flax in all 3 forms. The oil is used for the obvious benefits that absorption will get you. It also calls for ground flax and whole seeds, to help to thoroughly clean and strengthen your skin.

  • 1 tsp whole flax seeds
  • 1 tsp ground flax seeds
  • 3 tsp flax oil

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Combine these 3 ingredients together in a small bowl and let it sit in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  2. Massage it onto your face and neck with a circular motion.
  3. Rest and let the mask do its work for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Rinse with warm water.

Moisture isn’t all that essential fatty acids can offer your skin. If you suffer from breakouts or other skin conditions, you have a great reason to try flax oil on your skin.

HerbWisdom.com posted that:The essential fatty acids in flaxseed oil are largely responsible for its skin-healing powers. Red, itchy patches of eczema, psoriasis and rosacea often respond to the EFA’s anti-inflammatory actions and overall skin-soothing properties. By reducing the inflammation in your skin the flax oil eliminates unsightly and often uncomfortable skin irritations. It encourages quick healing and cell repair.

It eliminates dark circles around your eyes…

This discoloration occurs due to dryness, skin damage, lack of sleep and as a result of aging. There are many brightening creams, etc. on the market, but most of them are full of chemicals.

Flax oil, as mentioned at AllRemedies.com, helps to alleviate this problem naturally: “In order to reduce the dark circle around your eyes, you can apply a few drops of flaxseed oil to this sensitive skin daily for one week. After one week, you can see the significant improvement.”

It helps to treat and prevent oily skin…

An additional perk to using flaxseed oil on your face regularly is that it can help to decrease the amount of sebum your skin produces. This means that over time it can make your skin less oily, reducing shine and preventing clogged pores and breakouts.

It might sound funny to use an oil to reduce oiliness, but it works.
