Yummy Cherry-Nut Bar Recipe [Video]

When you’re feeling snacky and you want something sweet, what do you usually reach for?

How about a healthy fruit bar to kill your craving?

There are far too many snack options on the market that are loaded with added sugars and synthetic chemicals. Unfortunately, many of them are marketed as healthy options, even though they’re anything but.

If you’re trying to eat healthy, the best thing to do is to shop the outer aisles of the grocery store and stay away from packaged foods. That can be difficult for many people, as convenient snack foods are usually found in those inside aisles.

The thing is, without too much effort, you can make your own healthy snacks. Plus, they taste even better than most of the packaged snack foods out there.

Try these awesome fruit bars, you’ll be hooked!

Cherry Nut Bars

You will need:

1 cup dried cherries (organic, if possible)
1 cup shelled pistachios
1 cup dates, softened
1-2 tsp Panaseeda Flax Oil

Directions:

  1. Put the cherries, pistachios and dates into a food processor. Pulse. When the pieces start to break down, set it to blend. Leave it for 60-90 seconds, or until everything starts to come together.
  2. Move the mixture to a bowl, add the oil and then work the mixture with your hands to ensure it’s all mixed together properly and there are no big chunks.
  3. Line a tray with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Put your fruit and nut mixture onto the tray and press it flat across the pan. Use your hands or a glass to ensure that it is packed down well and evenly distributed.
  4. Put the pan in the fridge to chill for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Cut into bars or squares and enjoy!
  6. Store in a container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

I can vouch for this one, these bars are as delicious as they sound! The ingredients also happen to offer certain benefits to your health. Have a look:
